Hello - I have a very old hand-made embroidered Titcomb family crest. I don't know the origin, however the crest has sewn into it at the bottom "In the Name of Titcomb". It differs somewhat from the crest you have. There is no blue diagonal line; it has a horizontal gold stripe. Above the stripe are two animals (full body with red tails, which made me think they were foxes, but I can't be sure). Below the line is one larger full body fox with more detail. The arm at the top with the broken arrow is almost the same (the arrow points in the opposite direction). The helmet is quite similar, but not an exact match.
I've had this for some time. It appears to be made of silk, which at this point is very delicate and degrading somewhat. I had never removed the back, but decided to to see if the was any information on the inside of the backing, but alas, there was not. However, I am now motivated to get this to a restorer to see how I can best preserve it from this point on!

I'd love to see a photo?
How do I add a photo to this message?
I don't think you can but you can email it to me at andy.titcomb@earthling.net and I'll post it on the blog for you?
